
















What started as a family diving trip in the Cook Islands turned into the Nektons discovering a group of unique giant clams who had been feeding on the chemical nutrients arising from nearby underground volcanic activity (yum).
Clams are often covered in an encrusted surface on which smaller plants and animals live. They also have a hidden foot that anchors them to one spot by burrowing into the sand. And just may contain its very own treasure – a pearl inside its closed shell.
