The Colossal Squid proved to be a bit more trouble than the Nektons expected, with gigantic hooked tentacles and an even bigger appetite!  They have the largest eyes of any creature on earth.

A big moment for science and the Nektons (as this rare creature had never been seen alive before) turned into a fight to survive after it tried to eat the members of the Aronnax, using its surprising intellect and great vision to trap them.
