Megalodon

Believed to have been extinct for around 2.6 million years, the Megalodon was discovered by the Nektons while it was crossing the sea searching for a new area to hunt food.

The megalodon was the largest fish that ever lived and has been likened to today’s great white shark. The largest megalodon tooth ever found was 6.9 inches long which makes sense given the Greek meaning of the word megalodon is ‘giant tooth’.  It has a tail that acts as a rudder, allowing it to swim in a zigzag motion through the water, and a dorsal fin to help make sudden turns and stop it from rolling while in motion.
