The Nektons found the Giant Croc by accident while exploring an underwater cave system in search of fossils. 

They first stumbled onto a giant egg deep underground, ready to hatch and seemingly all alone! The Nektons soon realized what the creature was when a baby giant crocodile came out of the cracked egg, crying for food, and soon followed by its very large, protective and angry mother. Mean and terrifying at first, the crocodile’s mother soon realized that her baby wasn’t in danger and retreated without attacking (phew!).
